Advanced PT for the Voice:
Course Description
Step into the world of voice physical therapy with this dynamic two-day workshop designed for physical therapists. Learn from leading clinicians in voice management as you explore the anatomy and pathophysiology of the vocal complex and gain hands-on skills in manual therapy for the cricothyroid and surrounding structures. You’ll discover effective strategies to treat both performers and everyday voice users, with a focus on direct laryngeal work and integrated management of breath (thoracic–abdominal–pelvic), the cervico-thoracic region, and the jaw. Walk away confident in your ability to apply a holistic, evidence-informed approach and collaborate effectively within the vocal care team.
Course Objectives
By the completion of this course, participants will be able:
- To identify and accomplish confident assessment of head and neck anatomy

To understand, identify and assess laryngeal motion
- To confidently perform the Vocal Treatment Cycle
- To be able to identify contributing factors to vocal tension
- To understand the role of the vocal multidisciplinary team
There is a 4 hour reading and preparation component prior to the course.

Credit Hours
This course is approved for 20 CCUs.
It is the participant’s responsibility to verify if the course is approved by their licensing agency. Partial credit will NOT be awarded for partial attendance of courses.

No money or credit will be issued for “no shows” or if a participant begins the course and is not able to complete it.
